Torcello
The largest flooring with an antique effect on the market
Torcello is the reinterpretation of the antique strip, a great motif of the Venetian tradition revisited in a modern key to tell the story of a timeless style. Designed by the Portuguese landscape architect João Ferreira Nunes, and initially designed for the green spaces of the Venetian islands, Torcello combines different suggestions: on the one hand the slats of longer length than the classic wooden elements, on the other the herringbone arrangement, which creates a pattern similar to that of interior parquet. The flooring also takes inspiration from wood from a chromatic point of view, bringing the style and warmth of bygone eras to any open space. Torcello's antiqued strips undergo an artificial aging process which gives the flooring a slightly chipped effect, evoking the authentic appearance and character of ancient materials. Torcello manages to capture the essence of tradition with a contemporary design: it lends itself to furnishing the outdoor environments of farmhouses and rustic residences, places where this particular reinterpretation of the antiqued strip in a modern key can best express its timeless charm.

Specification items
Torcello (antiqued sharp edge), a model from the VIA VENETO line by FAVARO1, is composed of a double layer.
The wearing layer, with a minimum thickness of 4 mm, consists of a mixture of quartz aggregates that allows for high resistance to abrasion and provides optimal physico-chemical performance on the walking surface.
Physical-mechanical characteristics according to UNI EN 1339 standard: nominal dimensions 750x124.5 mm, nominal thickness 110 mm, tolerance on nominal thickness ±3 mm, characteristic flexural strength ≥3.5 MPa, minimum flexural breaking load ≥ 3.6 kN, abrasion resistance ≤ 20 mm, water absorption ≤ 6.0%, average frost/thaw resistance in the presence of salts ≤ 1.00 kg/m^2, satisfactory slip resistance. Slip resistance classification R13 according to DIN 51130, slip resistance classification C according to DIN 51097, compliant with anti-slip requirements specified in DM 14/06/1989 no.236 for outdoor pavements.
Environmental sustainability features: absence of asbestos, addition of titanium dioxide (only for white-based colors): this is a new class of materials produced with BIOTANIO®, the latest generation mixture developed in our laboratories is able to reduce organic compounds (dirt, pollution deposits, and microorganisms) that can settle on the product. Recycled material content according to CAM EDILIZIA (Decree of 23-06-2022) ≥10.5%, Solar Reflectance Index SRI (for gray material or white-based colors) according to ASTM E1980 ≥29.
Installation according to the reference methods indicated by UNI 11241 standard on a sub-base prepared according to the type of expected traffic and the state of the natural ground based on the indications of the "Catalogo per il dimensionamento delle pavimentazioni in ambito urbano" published by Assobeton, 2005: the materials used for the bedding layer and sub-base and their compaction conditions must ensure the necessary load-bearing capacity. Installation recommendation. The vibrocompaction of the product must be carried out with an adequate vibrating plate equipped with a roller (rubber or similar) on both sides of the product. Vibrocompaction without a roller-equipped plate is not allowed.
