Villa Morgagni (PD)

Located in the historic centre of Padua, just a short walk from Prato della Valle and the Basilica of Saint Anthony, Villa Morgagni is an architectural restoration project that breathes new life into the former Casa di Cura Morgagni, transforming it into a contemporary residential complex.

Designed by architect Albano Salmaso, the project explores the relationship between historical heritage and modern living requirements through a refined architectural language that enhances the building's original Art Nouveau features.

A Dialogue Between Historic Architecture and Contemporary Design

The project comprises 24 residential units, complemented by gardens and outdoor spaces serving the complex.

The restoration seeks to establish a balance between preservation and innovation, allowing contemporary geometries to interact with the building's existing architectural features.

Within this context, the design of the outdoor surfaces also plays a significant role: the paving contributes to the visual continuity of the spaces, defining pathways and enhancing the relationship between the building, materials and surrounding landscape.

Recycle 2.0: Materiality and Sustainability for Outdoor Spaces

For the outdoor areas of Villa Morgagni, Favaro1 supplied Recycle 2.0, a permeable paving solution featuring a surface finish made from natural marble aggregates.

Its distinctive texture, natural stone tones and understated surface design allow the paving to blend seamlessly into the architectural setting, helping to create an outdoor environment that reflects the character of the project.

Beyond its aesthetic qualities, Recycle 2.0 delivers high technical performance: its permeable structure facilitates rainwater drainage and helps mitigate the urban heat island effect.

A solution that redefines paving not simply as a surface covering, but as an active element in the design of outdoor spaces.

A Renewed Connection Between Architecture and Landscape

Villa Morgagni embodies an approach to architectural restoration in which the enhancement of existing heritage goes hand in hand with the selection of contemporary materials and solutions.

Through Recycle 2.0, Favaro1 contributes to the design of the outdoor spaces with a paving solution that combines aesthetic quality, functionality and environmental sustainability.
