Seafront of Ginosa Marina
Along the picturesque seafront of Ginosa Marina, a unique architectural project comes to life, conceived by Architect Loredana Modugno, who has transformed the area with creativity and innovation. In this context of beauty and functionality, Recycle has been employed, an avant-garde interlocking pavement capable of absorbing up to 50 liters of water per square meter per second.
The seafront of Ginosa Marina has achieved significant milestones in terms of livability, de-cementification, accessibility, traffic flow, and restoration of landscapes and green areas. These are just some of the main criteria considered for accessing the 2014-2020 development and cohesion funds, aimed at improving areas and infrastructures dedicated to tourist accommodation. The Municipality of Ginosa distinguished itself, ranking second out of 96 requests, thus securing funding of one and a half million euros for redevelopment interventions.
In a recent interview, the Mayor of Ginosa, Vito Parisi, emphasized the importance of this pedestrianization process, involving both Ginosa and Marina di Ginosa. It is a transformation that includes restricted traffic areas, pedestrian zones, and bike paths, with the aim of giving space back to people and reducing the presence of cars. Parisi reiterated his commitment to promoting policies that bring about significant changes, thereby improving the quality of life for citizens.
The use of Recycle, therefore, has not only enhanced the aesthetic appearance of the seafront but has also successfully addressed challenges related to rainwater control and surface drainage, thanks to its variance index lower than 0.05.
The project, signed by Architect Loredana Modugno and enriched by Recycle, represents to date a successful combination of cutting-edge design, environmental sustainability, and superior performance, offering residents and visitors a unique and memorable experience along the splendid coasts of Ginosa Marina.
