Expansion of San Giuliano Park
The new expansion includes the construction of permeable pedestrian pathways, terrain modeling to support new tree plantings, and the installation of a modern irrigation network and high-efficiency lighting system. The intervention also introduces updated urban furnishings along with new bridges and walkways designed to strengthen circulation between the various sections of the park. The landscape upgrade is complemented by an extensive planting plan featuring new trees, shrubs, and thousands of ground-cover species, increasing biodiversity and improving the ecological resilience of the area.
Favaro1 contributed by supplying Recycle, a permeable marble-aggregate paving solution designed for environmentally sensitive projects and natural pedestrian routes. Recycle improves stormwater management, promotes soil permeability, and provides a visually harmonious finish that integrates seamlessly with the park’s natural surroundings. Its durability and compatibility with green areas and drainage-based pathways make it an ideal choice for high-traffic public environments.
Today, the expanded San Giuliano Park offers improved accessibility, enhanced landscape quality, and a stronger connection between Mestre’s community and its lagoon-side environment. The project demonstrates the essential role of permeable paving systems in supporting sustainable urban development and enhancing the livability of public spaces.
