Redevelopment of Piazza Marconi — Milazzo (ME)

The redevelopment of Piazza Marconi in Milazzo represents a strategic urban regeneration project promoted by the Municipality of Milazzo and designed by architect Carmelo Dragà. The intervention focused on the outdoor areas, with the goal of transforming a central public space into a modern, welcoming, and functional square.

The project included the installation of new permeable paving, innovative urban furnishings such as smart benches with USB charging points, social gathering areas, upgraded lighting, and water features — all conceived to enhance usability and the overall quality of the urban environment.

Within this context, Favaro1 contributed by supplying Recycle, a marble-aggregate permeable paving solution that combines refined aesthetics, high technical performance, and environmental sustainability. The use of Recycle allowed the creation of a continuous and durable surface, perfectly integrated into the new urban design and capable of enhancing the architectural identity of the project.

The result is a more accessible, functional, and sustainable square that blends contemporary design with civic value, giving back to the city a modern and representative public space.
