Piazza Armando Diaz

The redevelopment of Piazza Armando Diaz in Adrano represents a strategic urban regeneration initiative promoted by the Municipality of Adrano as part of the PNRR investment program. The project, designed by architect Marco Esposito, aimed to restore spatial quality and continuity to a central area of the city, adjacent to the Monument to the Fallen and the Church of the Capuchins.

The intervention involved a complete reorganization of public spaces, the enhancement of the monumental heritage, and the introduction of new green areas and urban furnishings. Within this context, Favaro1 contributed to the redevelopment by supplying Recycle, a permeable paving solution that combines aesthetics, technical performance, and environmental sustainability.

Thanks to its permeability and infiltration capacity, Recycle facilitates the management of stormwater and the mitigation of the urban microclimate, reducing the heat island effect and improving overall public space comfort. Its natural texture and material finish also helped create a visual continuum consistent with the architectural and monumental context of the square.

The result is a regenerated urban space—more accessible and sustainable—that harmonizes historical memory with contemporary design through thoughtful planning and materials aligned with the principles of ecological transition.
