Lido degli Estensi

The redevelopment of Lido degli Estensi is an urban regeneration project promoted by the Municipality of Comacchio (FE) aimed at enhancing the seaside town’s central areas and improving the quality of its public spaces. The intervention focuses on the main urban axes — particularly Viale Carducci and the pedestrian connections between the seafront and the town centre — with the goal of improving walkability, accessibility, and the overall experience for residents, businesses, and tourists in one of the most popular destinations along the Emilia-Romagna coast.

The project stems from a participatory design process and an ideas competition launched to define a new urban Masterplan for the area. This process established guidelines for creating more fluid public spaces, high-quality pedestrian and cycling paths, and a redesigned connection between Viale Carducci and Viale delle Querce, conceived to strengthen the town’s commercial and tourist appeal.

The redevelopment also includes the improvement of outdoor areas and parking zones, with new paved spaces designed to integrate harmoniously with the flow of the town and its seasonal dynamics.
