Messina University

The redevelopment of the outdoor areas of the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Messina is part of a broader program of university building improvements promoted by the institution and supported by ministerial funding aimed at enhancing the efficiency and quality of educational and research spaces.

The project focused on the Annunziata Campus, home to the Degree Course in Veterinary Medicine and the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The goal was to redesign pathways and open spaces connecting the various buildings, improving accessibility and giving the campus a more coherent and contemporary appearance.

Within this context, Favaro1 contributed by supplying the Mega paving collection — a large-format solution combining strength, refined aesthetics, and easy maintenance. The use of a technical yet elegant material helped enhance access routes and connecting areas, ensuring visual continuity and a harmonious perception of the outdoor environment.

The result is a more functional, welcoming, and distinctive campus, where the architectural quality of the surfaces reinforces the visual identity and prestige of the University of Messina.
