Favaro1 leader of the redevelopment of the former wholesale market in via Boccaccio for GO! 2025

Favaro1 confirms itself as a point of reference in the panorama of urban redevelopment. Thanks to an approach that combines quality, innovation and sustainability, the company continues to stand out in the design of functional and modern public spaces, also contributing to the transformation of strategic areas into more livable and accessible contexts. As in the case of the former Wholesale Market in via Boccaccio in Gorizia. Favaro1 had a leading role in the redevelopment of the area - a rather abandoned area, but with high strategic potential in view of GO! 2025, the large cross-border project which sees the cities of Nova Gorica and Gorizia protagonists of the title of European Capital of Culture.

On February 17 the new multifunctional center with car park built on the site of the former wholesale market was inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Gorizia, Rodolfo Ziberna, the councilor for public works Sarah Filisetti and the entire municipal council, as well as the president of the Consorzio di Sviluppo Economico della Venezia Giulia - the body to which the municipality has entrusted the work in administrative delegation - and the representatives of the companies involved, including Favaro1 which took care of the paving of the entire area, helping to make the new project more sustainable.

The redevelopment has thus created a cutting-edge multifunctional space designed to host events, fairs and initiatives of various kinds. The area covers an area of 2,500 square meters and offers 91 parking stalls, eight of which are dedicated to charging electric vehicles; the external spaces are equipped with plant, water and electrical connections, while the areas dedicated to services - such as the catering room and warehouses, or the automatic toilets - make the center suitable for hosting activities of all kinds. The modernization intervention was planned with particular attention to the environment, which saw, among other things, the creation of new tree-lined areas and the use of draining paving. For the latter, Riga and Recycle® 2.0 by Favaro1 were chosen, two products capable of guaranteeing aesthetics, functionality and durability.

Riga

Riga is an outdoor concrete flooring with a minimal design, made of reconstructed stone based on hydraulic binder and selected aggregates. The new generation mixture protects the color and keeps the aesthetics unchanged over time, making it an ideal solution for residential, commercial and public contexts. Thanks to the innovative BIOTANIO® technology, which integrates titanium dioxide into the mixture, Riga reduces organic compounds and the accumulation of dirt for a self-cleaning and antibacterial result. For the redevelopment of the former wholesale market in via Boccaccio, Riga was chosen in the pearl white shade and installed in the pedestrian areas with a linear and staggered pattern.

Recycle 2.0®

Recycle 2.0® is a self-locking and draining flooring characterized by a thin surface layer of marble chips which enhances its aesthetics and facilitates cleaning. Thanks to its remarkable filtering capacity, it avoids the stagnation of rainwater and helps mitigate the heat island effect, improving the comfort of urban areas. Ideal for very busy outdoor spaces thanks to its high driveability, Recycle® 2.0 is suitable for car parks, driveways and public areas; furthermore, it does not require the installation of collection wells, allowing a continuous and uniform surface to be obtained. The installation is simple and, in case of damage, individual blocks can be quickly replaced. Made with wear-resistant eco-sustainable materials, this flooring represents a responsible choice for the urban spaces of today and tomorrow. For the redevelopment project of the former wholesale market in via Boccaccio, Recycle® 2.0 was selected in gray marble and gold marble shades and used in the driveway and parking areas. With this intervention, Favaro1 consolidates its role as a reliable and innovative partner for the design and redevelopment of large public spaces. Thanks to continuous research into advanced solutions and technologies, combined with special attention to the environment in the production and study of new flooring, the company has now become a point of reference for institutions and professionals involved in the transformation of cities that look to the future.
