Mega is more than just a large format paving slab, it is a real piece of outdoor furniture, a 60 per 60 block made with selected natural stones suitable for every urban furnishing need and personalization of outdoor spaces.

Thanks to the proprietary “Quartz Color System”, Mega is not afraid of external pollutants while always maintaining its original colors unchanged.

A natural floor that stands out for its high resistance, large formats available but also for the linearity of the laying effect.

It combines the mechanical concrete performance with exclusive applications in outdoor furnishings added to an extreme ease of installation.

Once considered exclusively as a building material, today concrete changes its appearance and thanks to Favaro1 it is renewed in colors and finishes, a material imprint decided by contemporary design, available in 6 different colours.

BIOTANIUM is added to White color, a latest generation mixture created to reduce organic compounds which could deposit on the surface, ensuring self-cleaning of the product and depolluting over time.

Specification item

Flooring made with vibro-compressed concrete slabs with a high degree of compaction. Mega model of VIA VENETO line by FAVARO1 is composed of a double layer. The wear layer, having a minimum thickness of 4 mm, is made up of a mixture of quartz aggregates which allows it to have characteristics of high resistance to abrasion, because it gives excellent physical-chemical performance on the walking surface.

Thanks to the new generation mixture, the elements have the following additional aesthetic and durability characteristics:
• Increases color protection from the effects of time;
• Increases water repellency;
• Increases protection against different types of "dirt";
• Brilliance of colors resist more tenaciously over time, enhancing the design of the flooring.

Physical and mechanical characteristics according to the UNI EN 1339 standard: nominal dimensions 250x500/500x500/1000x500/1000x1000 mm, nominal thickness 90 mm, tolerance on nominal thickness ±3 mm, characteristic bending strength ≥3.5 MPa, minimum bending tensile strength ≥ 5.6/11.2/5.6/11.2 kN, abrasion resistance ≤ 20 mm, water absorption ≤ 6.0%, average freeze/thaw resistance in the presence of salts ≤ 1.00 kg/m^2, satisfactory slip/slide resistance. Anti-slip classification R13 according to DIN 51130, anti-slip classification C according to DIN 51097, compliant with the anti-slip requirements referred to in Ministerial Decree 14/06/1989 n.236 for external flooring.

Environmental sustainability characteristics: absence of asbestos, addition of titanium dioxide (only for white-based colours): this is a new class of materials produced with BIOTANIO®, the latest generation mixture studied in our laboratories is capable of reducing organic compounds (dirt, pollution deposits and microorganisms) that can deposit on the product. BIOTANIO® makes the products self-cleaning and antibacterial. Content of recycled material according to Ministerial Decree 11/01/2017 ≥10.5%, solar reflectance index SRI (for gray material and sand or white-based colours) according to ASTM E1980 ≥29. Installed according to the reference methods indicated by the UNI 11241 standard on a ballast prepared according to the type of traffic expected and the state of the natural ground based on the indications of the "Catalogue for the sizing of pavements in urban areas" published by Assobeton 2005: the materials used for the bedding and ballast layer and their compaction conditions must in any case guarantee the necessary load-bearing capacity.

The Quartz Color System is a production system based on the combination of a special mixture with a distinctive production process. The mixture involves the addition of a certain quantity of quartz to enhance the physical and chemical performance of the product, while simultaneously amplifying its technical capabilities. On the other hand, the special production process creates a specific impermeability between the treated element and the exterior, enabling easy cleaning of the flooring and reducing stains compared to an untreated Quarz Color System product. The colors remain more durable over time, enhancing the design of the flooring.
